The Rocker I Could’ve Been

ART? Posted on Thu, May 15, 2025 23:14:38

Almost 40 years ago, there was a rip in the fabric of time. It split reality into an alternative timeline where, instead of getting a Commodore 64, I got a guitar. Now, because of another rupture in the timeline, information is leaking between dimensions—and we can finally see what happened.
Let me present to you: APN201 the rocker!

They had a cute waitress who knew my preferences and would often bring me a glass of Amarone before I even asked. I had a bit of a crush on her. One day, a small heart appeared on the chalkboard where they advertised the wine, and I wanted to believe it was for me.

Actually, this is just a continuation of my experiments with AI. I might need to do some AI stuff for an upcoming movie, so I was testing the tools to see how much they’ve improved in a year.
To make this video, I used a lyric I wrote years ago on a cigarette box while being totally heartbroken and self-medicating with too many glasses of Amarone at the Italian restaurant next door. I was a familiar face there. Sometimes I went every day.

Anyway, she didn’t break my heart. Someone else did.
But she taught me how to love, and how to enjoy life.

That night, I put on my best Hugo Boss suit and sat outside the restaurant at a small table, sipping wine, writing the lyrics, and smoking a cigar. The owner walked by, saw the scene, and said: “Bello, bello!”

So—as mentioned—this AI version of me, from that other timeline, was made using Suno, Midjourney, and Kling. The source material? Just the lyrics and a single still image of me.
Everything else is AI-generated.

The source of all evil (the image used to generate everything in the video)

Of course, I still had to plan the shots, write the prompts, and do the editing—but basically, everything you see and hear is artificial.
Just like everything in the real world has been for decades—long before the invention of AI.

At least tits haven’t been real for a long, long time.
I mentioned tits, so I guess that’s a good place to end.

R-Tyny music project

ART? Posted on Sat, June 08, 2024 17:05:10

I create many projects under the motto “Try everything.” While I mostly produce art under my moniker APN201, I sometimes use different names for special projects. One such name is R-Tyny, a virtual artist. The works published under the R-Tyny name are experimental music pieces, heavily utilizing AI, Fiverr, or both.

Make no mistake, I still consider myself the artist behind these works. From a copyright perspective, a work or creation is something where the creator’s unique influence makes the work distinct and unreplicable without their contribution. Ghostwriters have always existed; Warhol, Koons, Michelangelo, etc., did not create all their works themselves. My main discipline is filmmaking, so to me, auteurism spreads across all art forms: you don’t need to do everything yourself, as long as you are the one making the decisions. In pop music, producers like Phil Spector are also called auteurs because their style is evident in their works. However, I believe it goes beyond that. R-Tyny songs all sound different, but none would exist without me.

Most of these R-Tyny works have been published on streaming platforms to make them easily accessible. You can find them on Spotify, YouTube, and Suno. My personal favorites are a couple of songs with lyrics created by my 2-year-old daughter.

P.S. The name R-Tyny refers to the Finnish word “ärtynyt,” meaning irritated.

Deus ex machina

God 2.0

I updated my “god” to use model GPT-4o and did also some other improvements.

Although this is very simple experiment with large language mode, it has sparked some discussion. As usual people fire opinions without thinking too much. I mean, if god exists, wouldn’t he also speak through the AI – as there is nothing in existence not controlled by the god?

If the AI bot is not god per se, but a messenger, would he be better in the job than average priests, because he is not human? He is made by humans, and thus is biased, but not for personal gain. Is he interpreting the holy texts better or worse than humans. This god is just the divine being. He does not really represent any particular religion. Does that allow better reaction to users’ worries?

Who know, but it’s fan tough experiment.
